How to Make Money on the Internet by Betty Haynes
In this day and time every one is looking for a way to make money using the Internet. Most people if they care to be honest will tell you they have searched for an easy way to make money using the good ole “Information Highway” at least one time. The truth is there is no easy way to make mega bucks at the snap of a finger. If that was the case we would all be rich. There is a way to succeed on the web with hard work and diligence.
One fun way is by selling items on Ebay. Ebay is a very popular online auction network that allows people to list every item imaginable for others to bid on. Items range from cars to items such as sewing buttons. There are also a wide array of things for your bidding pleasure that are not ordinary or normal such as a grilled cheese sandwich that has an image of the Virgin Mary on it. My motto has always been “ Don’t throw it away sell it on Ebay”!
How Ebay works is rather simple. Please be aware that you have to have a credit card or bank account to register as a seller on Ebay. If you do not have a credit card don’t let that keep you from registering. You can obtain a pre paid Mastercard or Visa just about anywhere. A prepaid card works for registration as long as your credit card account is funded. Once you register and list your items Ebay will get a percentage of your listing price after your sale listing has ended. One thing to keep in mind is generally you want to keep your starting bid low and not over $1.00 for every day items. It generates more interest. You can make an exception for big ticket items. You can also set a price for the item that you have to have before it sells. In other words if your items does not bring at least that set amount you do not sell it. You can also set a BUY NOW PRICE. A buy now price by passes the auction end of the process and allows a buyer to purchase your item for a set price before the auction officially ends
Another way to make money on the web is to build your own website to promote what you have for sale. A wonderful option is building a simple web store that lists your items you have to sell. One example of what I am talking about is you can build an online thrift store and offer customers everyday items for sale. You can list items as clothing, nick nacks and such. The items do not have to be new to sell them. You can make it a second hand store. In these days of high gas prices and over inflated daily costs of living everyone is looking for a cost effective way to buy the things that they need. My advice to you is find a need and then provide the service. If you find a niche where you can sell pet care items, clothing, services, self help items or anything else then do it. The Internet is a valuable marketing tool if one wishes to use it.
There are 2 ways of going about setting up an online store. You can hire a webdesigner to do it for you. As an example Techbydesign offers a complete web store package where you can have 8 actual webpages designed and you can add up to 1000 items in your store. They provide the webhosting to host your online store for one whole year. They also offer website maintenance and website marketing all wrapped up in a 1 time yearly payment of $400.00. They offer financing and a monthly payment option as well.
Another way of setting up an online store is to buy a hosting account and do the work your self. Techbydesign offers low cost webhosting accounts that start at $3 per month. Their accounts include shopping carts, web stats, website builder, mailing lists, and ample bandwidth, more than enough disk space and much more. You will find they offer many tools that are included to help your online business succeed. Another online shopping cart service that offers a great do it yourself program is Godaddy. Although their services are not as cost effective as Techbydesign’s it’s a good service.
One final way a person can make money on the Internet is by affiliate sales. You can promote items for others and for every sale you create for them they give you a percentage of the transaction. There are many types of affiliate programs such as Pay Per Click, Direct Sales. You can get a list of affiliate programs at Ideal Revenue at https://idealrevenue.directtrack.com/affiliate_signup.html?super_affiliate_code=CD546 or by doing a Google search on the term “ Affiliate Networks”. I will go in depth about affiliate programs in my next article.
Some important things to remember in your search for online riches are “ Where there is a will there is a way”, “ find a need and provide the service”. If you keep these 2 statements in your mind then there will be no set boundaries at what you can accomplish if you just put forth the effort.
